The Essence
In 1975, a very special kid was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. His name was Eric Albert and was named by his aunt Nelsa Albert R.I.P. He had what his family thought was the first American name in the family. At the age of 8 park sets would grab his attention and guided him to the world we know as Hip Hop.
Eric spent numerous hours listening to and recording samples off of the radio, especially on the weekends. He took the culture and wore it like a set of clothes. Eric's teenage years took him by storm after the separation of his two parents. He went from an innocent child to a street hustler who started getting good at the crafts known as rapping and graffiti. `
Eric started to live through his art and soon encountered everything that went with the street life. He met a girl that he never saw in the neighborhood before, who's nickname was White. White had something about her that made Eric curious about her life and what she had to offer. During this journey he was thrown with an escape route and a better woman by the name of Suhane Pedroso. He started a relationship with Suhane and soon had a boy named Carlos "Miggie" Pedroso.
Eric was never a bad person but he couldn't care less about harming anyone that stood in his path and judged him without knowing his struggles or outlook on life. In 1994 his mentor and best friend, Salvador Perez passed away in his arms; that event changed Eric's life forever. He abandonned his family, went back with White and closed himself off from life. White was a selfish person and did whatever she could to make sure that this time around she wouldn't lose Eric. Years went by and although Eric grew tired of his marriage, he didn't want to break it off because of the fear of being alone. He was married for over 20 years with this woman but was never truly happy. Eric got sick early in his life and soon realized that although his wife was always in the streets and didn't live a stable life at home, she would never turn her back on him.
White would always give Eric strength to do things and nursed him when he wasn't feeling well. The family never liked her but they couldn't do anything about Eric's choices in life. He was his own soldier who did anything he wanted in life. Eric lived a very long-short life and got to see the real world for what it was. He took life day by day and made it the best he could with his great sense of humor. Eric will truly be missed but he is in a better place now. God bless your soul Eric!
